Being a business owner in Israel is always challenging, but add to that the events of the past year that caused many businesses to fail to survive. Aya and Nir Chehanowski, who are behind Studio Cheha, had a particularly challenging year - and despite everything, they prove what a revival is.

And so Aya wrote on her Facebook; "Corona - cancer - war - fire. Exactly in this order and all the answers are correct. It's been a long time since I've shared, and there's not a bad moment here (for all of us, by the way). Just when I was about to crack the recovery year, the war broke out. And since then I've been walking around the world a drop in the air, unable to touch the ground .

"With half a brain, with an unsettled soul, a heart that learns that it can be broken again and again, with a new attention disorder that I never had. I understand and accept that this is who I am now and I am changing day by day. One evening in July our studio caught fire. A thick, smelly black cloud filled the The space and the air. A scary scene, the embodiment of all fears, a great shock and shock. Nir took control of the event in an unimaginable way, with a fire extinguisher and a half (yes, those who are stuck in some corner of the business). Yours? Well, it saved us all!!! There was a psychological rehabilitation, cleaning, dismantling, construction, painting... and all this with great freedom, yes, we managed to save it? Quite a lot of goods after a massive sorting in the sweet heat of August. We also lost a lot of the models and so you will see that they are out of stock."

Despite the upheavals and the considerable loss of the goods, the two managed to get back on their feet and re-manufacture, with hard work, their best lamps that will be gifts for the holiday.

The two conquered the world overnight - from 2013, when they created flat candlesticks with a unique technology based on a 3D illusion, and since then their products have been synonymous with quality and innovation. It is amazing that precisely in such a dark time, the studio that manufactures lamps and uses light as a central element burned down almost completely. "Light may seem like a simple thing, but if you think about it, it is a powerful and revolutionary invention," shares Aya, "light affects its environment at every moment and can change the way we see reality in countless different ways. In our work, the meeting between two-dimensional and three-dimensional Creates a new dimension and this is our way of saying that things are not always what they seem. The depth of the illusion lies in our ability to interpret and perceive reality. What is real and what is not? This is how magic is created.

The approaching Tishrei holidays are a wonderful opportunity to support our local designers, and help bring the light back into their lives.
