Google announced new capabilities for its AI platform, Gemini, with the launch of two exciting new features. The first is the enhanced image generator, Imagen 3, which is now available to all Gemini users. This tool offers the creation of exceptionally high-quality images. Additionally, Google has reinstated the ability to generate images of people—a feature previously removed due to ethical concerns. The creation of images featuring people will be available exclusively to paid Gemini subscribers (Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Advanced, and Gemini Business).

"We have made significant progress with Imagen 3 in providing a better user experience when creating images of people. We do not support creating photorealistic images of celebrities, minors, or violent and sexual content," Google stated. "Imagen 3 sets a new standard for image quality, enabling the creation of images using just a few words. Users can even request Gemini to create images in different styles, such as photorealistic landscapes, textured oil paintings, or playful clay animation scenes."

The second tool Google introduced is Gem ("Gemstone"), which allows users to create customized versions of the Gemini chatbot for specific purposes, such as a "learning coach," "text editor," or "brainstorming partner."

"With Gems, you can assemble a team of experts to help you tackle a challenging project, brainstorm ideas for an upcoming event, or write the perfect caption for a social media post," Google explained. "Your Gem can also remember a detailed set of instructions to help you save time on repetitive tasks."

The Gems feature will gradually become available starting today on the desktop version for Gemini Advanced, Gemini Business, and Gemini Enterprise users in over 150 countries and in most languages, including Hebrew and in Israel.
