Almost everything damages our hair, and monthly upkeep is the hardest part. Those not blessed with excellent genetics especially suffer from brittle, tired hair, and that's not even mentioning hair loss—a topic that requires its own protocol. A tester with dry, thick, and damaged hair—having gone through all kinds of treatments—put in the work with an intensive washing routine to breathe some life back into her hair. Here are the results.
L'Oréal Bond Repair Series
L'Oréal Bond Repair Series (credit: PR abroad)Despite initial skepticism, as this isn’t the high-end brand of the group (like Kérastase), our tester was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of this series, which aims to repair damage from coloring, highlights, blow-drying, straightening, and more. The series includes four products, but the standout is the pre-treatment. Applied before shampooing, this pre-conditioner offers a sense of relief and reduces volume before washing. The entire series has a great scent, except for the serum, which, although labeled as containing citric acid, seems to have a slightly sour fragrance. In terms of price, it’s a win-win, though the containers are not as large compared to others on the market.

Kérastase Night Serum
Kérastase Night Serum (credit: PR)The promise: a leave-in night serum that deeply nourishes hair while you sleep. We've heard a lot about this serum. Fortunately, our tester didn't expect to wake up with Cinderella-like hair but was hoping for a noticeable difference in texture—and she was not disappointed. The hair felt much softer to the touch, and after consistent use for a few weeks, a real improvement was noticeable. Although it’s a night serum, any hairstylist will advise against going to bed with wet hair, especially those prone to frizz and curls. The dry hair became noticeably more flexible, the scent is addictive, and the secret is consistency and the right complementary products.

Moroccanoil Frizz Control Series
Moroccanoil Frizz Control Series (credit: PR)This limited-edition holiday set, illustrated by American artist Jade Cardinalli, comes in a luxurious cosmetic bag and includes four products. The 'Frizz Control' set, designed to neutralize frizz, contains a shampoo, conditioner, the brand’s famous oil, and an anti-frizz spray. The shampoo and conditioner are excellent, with a pleasant scent, and after using the conditioner, the hair feels 'lighter.' The oil significantly helped detangle the hair after washing, and the anti-frizz spray is useful only if you plan to follow up with heat-styling tools like a blow-dryer, straightener, or curling iron.
Silica Series (credit: PR)Silica's holiday set offers four products for perfect hair restoration, all in a thermal tote bag. The set includes a shampoo, a smoothing mask for chemically treated hair (free of salts and preservatives), a serum, and a complimentary brush. Our tester reported an incredibly pleasant feeling after using the mask—hair was very soft and silky to the touch, and she gave a perfect 10 for the fantastic fragrance. The shampoo lathered well and didn’t dry out the hair, which is crucial. If we go a step further, we can say that there was even a slight improvement in the hair's shine.
