The POÄNG armchair first launched in 1977 and was an immediate success. It was relaunched in 1992 under its current name, featuring a slimmer design and a wooden frame, which reduced its price. Nearly 30 years later, Nakamura himself redesigned the beloved armchair for IKEA's 80th anniversary. With a lower backrest and no headrest, the chair received a youthful and modern appearance without sacrificing comfort.
The KLIPPAN sofa was first introduced in 1980 as a solution for young families, designed with rounded corners, washable fabric, and an affordable price.
