As part of the 80th-anniversary festivities, IKEA launches another wave of the Nytillverkad collection. This collection pays tribute to the company's iconic designs over the years, presenting cheerful and updated versions of classic products.

This launch highlights two timeless items that have received a lively and updated look: the KLIPPAN sofa and the POÄNG armchair, available in a range of colors. These products will transport you straight to the 80s with their bold colors, straight lines, and minimalist design.

Few products fully embody the Scandinavian design model like the KLIPPAN and POÄNG. Both were designed by Noboru Nakamura (1938-2023), showcasing stylistic simplicity alongside maximum comfort and usability. This combination is part of their enduring charm, making them bestsellers for over 40 years, with periodic updates and innovations.

The POÄNG armchair first launched in 1977 and was an immediate success. It was relaunched in 1992 under its current name, featuring a slimmer design and a wooden frame, which reduced its price. Nearly 30 years later, Nakamura himself redesigned the beloved armchair for IKEA's 80th anniversary. With a lower backrest and no headrest, the chair received a youthful and modern appearance without sacrificing comfort.

The KLIPPAN sofa was first introduced in 1980 as a solution for young families, designed with rounded corners, washable fabric, and an affordable price. This year, IKEA pays homage to the iconic covers featured in the 1984 catalog, reintroducing the beloved sofa in bright red, blue, and yellow colors, guaranteed to draw attention and become the focal point of any room.
