Pristine beaches with snow-white sand, deep turquoise waters, and lush tropical rainforests bursting with life—this is what the paradise of Seychelles looks like, a magical archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Three main islands shape the perfect visiting experience, each offering its unique character and attractions.

Mahé: The Gateway to the Magical Archipelago

Mahé, the largest and central island in the Seychelles, serves as the perfect gateway to the entire archipelago. The island is home to the international airport and the capital, Victoria, which combines colonial charm with a vibrant tropical atmosphere. Visitors to the island will find a rich variety of secluded beaches, national parks, and spectacular hiking trails.

Top Attractions:

The botanical gardens offer a direct encounter with the island’s tropical nature. Here, you’ll find an impressive collection of exotic plants, rare flowers, and stunning orchids. Visitors can also see giant tortoises, flying foxes, and other unique species.

The Sainte Anne Marine National Park, despite damage from a tsunami and over-tourism, still provides a fascinating glimpse into the rich underwater world of the islands. Surviving coral colonies create habitats for a remarkable variety of tropical fish.

Anse Takamaka Beach epitomizes the beauty of the Seychelles—crystal-clear turquoise waters and soft white sand. Visitors can combine snorkeling with watching colorful fish and majestic sea turtles freely roaming the area.

Culinary Experiences

The restaurants in Mahé, mostly located within luxury hotels, offer an intriguing mix of local and international cuisine. Del Place has established itself as one of the island’s top restaurants, combining fresh seafood dishes with stunning panoramic views. For those seeking vegetarian options, The Station Seychelles offers a rich and varied menu.

Shopping and Entertainment

The Sir Selwyn Clarke Market in Victoria is a bustling hub of local commerce. The market offers an authentic experience with stalls of tropical foods and drinks alongside souvenirs and local products. The local artisans’ village provides a fascinating insight into the local culture, with a selection of artwork, oils and perfumes, and traditional spices.

Although Seychelles is not known for a vibrant nightlife scene, the island offers a few interesting options. KATIOLO Night Club allows for dancing under the stars, with a strict dress code reflecting its elegant vibe. BOARDWALK BAR & GRILL provides a slightly more relaxed alternative, with a varied menu and a laid-back atmosphere.
