Kosher Spanish white wine made from vineyards with sustainable farming

A good wine for health, especially when the grapes come from sustainable, non-irrigated vineyards in Spain’s Rioja Alta region, now available as a kosher option.

Wine is good for health, in moderation, of course. But it’s even better when the grapes come from vineyards that use sustainable farming practices, without irrigation, on the outskirts of the city of Aro in the West Bank of the Ebro River in Spain's Rioja Alta wine region.

The Scottish division of Isracool, specializing in wine and alcohol, is launching a new kosher white wine, Santalba Vina Hermosa Blanco, made from Viura grapes, the classic white grape variety of the Rioja wine region. The vineyards are planted in calcareous and clay soil at an altitude of 550 meters. After separating and crushing the grapes, the must undergoes a three-hour maceration followed by controlled temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
