In the heart of the city of Modi’in , we are in the middle of the process of an innovative and prestigious sheltered housing: Up to 120 Modi’in . The spectacular building combines modern architectural design with green touches, while ensuring maximum functionality, comfort and accessibility. Vered Gindi, from Gindi Studio Architects, an architect and house designer, tells us about the unique work with the sheltered housing network and in particular the design of the houses: "My studio specializes in interior design, and we work with a wide variety of clients, from high-tech companies and universities to sheltered housing. In the 'Up to 120 Modi'in' project, it was important to me to bring a modern and fresh flavor to the field, while breaking the traditional concept of designing sheltered housing."

Is there a change in the design of sheltered housing today to the designs that were acceptable in the past?

"Yes. The generation has changed. It is important to note that today's tenants are very aware of the modern environment and are exposed to innovative design. They appreciate our refreshing approach and understand that design is not only intended to impress, but also to improve their quality of life."

Tell us about the "Up to 120 Modi’in" design and the unique connection to the location of the city.

"The design of the house is greatly influenced by its location in the city center. Below the sheltered housing building is a shopping center, so we created a modern urban entrance, emphasizing the connection between the outside and the inside in order to create a colorful and material connection between the public spaces of the house and its surroundings. "We used modern and unique materials, while Ensuring accessibility and functionality. The apartments are spacious and bright, and include a computer room, a spacious sitting area and a private balcony overlooking a spectacular urban landscape."

What are the new trends in the sheltered housing sector?

"Unlike changing trends, in the design of 'Up to 120 Modi'in' we focused on creating a temporary and unique look. We used special geometries and quality materials, while creating a pleasant and relaxing space that will stand the test of time."

How is "Up to 120 Modi’in " different from other sheltered housing?

"This home offers a completely new living experience. It is adapted to the needs of the new generation, a generation of active and dynamic people who want to live their lives to the fullest even in their third years. The adults who live in assisted living homes today are different than they used to be. They are looking for accessibility with an emphasis on modernity." The new sheltered housing of the "Ad 120" network in Modi'in will be built in front of the Modi'in Center train station and the shopping mall.

According to the outline plan, the project will include about 250 housing units, including an innovative nursing department. The apartments will be built to a high construction standard, the house will offer garden apartments, warehouses and private parking, parking for visitors, public areas, a restaurant and cafeteria, a pool, a spa and gym, a clinic and physiotherapy institute, a synagogue and more. The project is intended to serve the population of Modi'in-Maccabim-Reוt and its surroundings and the total investment in its construction is expected to reach approximately NIS 350 million and the completion of construction is expected in 2021.
