In the midst of challenging times for Israel, the Cancer Society continues its important fight against the disease. The annual fundraising operation "Knock on the Door" 2024 is in full swing, despite the tense security situation. This year, for the first time, a digital donation will be possible on the association's website, in addition to the telephone donation center at 1-800-35-46-46 (toll-free). The operation will take place all over the country, in accordance with the directives of the Home Front Command.

Moshe Bar-Haim, CEO of the Israel Cancer Association, emphasizes the importance of the operation: "Each month, approximately 2,830 new patients are discovered in Israel. We cannot take a break in the fight." According to him, every year about 34,000 new cancer patients are diagnosed in Israel, of which about 500 are children. Today there are about 300,000 patients and recoveries living in Israel who are undergoing treatment or being monitored.

The Israel Cancer Association, which has been operating for about 70 years, promotes a variety of essential activities. Among other things, it finances Israeli research, operates a boarding house for patients from the periphery, helps tutors for sick children, and promotes national programs for early diagnosis. In addition, the association supports the establishment of oncology departments and units and works to promote patients' rights.

"Every donation from the public is essential and intended to actually save lives," stresses Bar-Haim. "It is important for us to reach every patient so that he receives the appropriate assistance." He invites the public to donate on the association's website: https://tinyurl.com/238mecht.

Despite the many challenges facing the country, the Israel Cancer Association continues its important mission. Its understands that the fight against cancer cannot wait, even in times of crisis. The public donation in the "Knock on the Door" 2024 operation will help the association to continue its vital activity and support patients and their families in this challenging time.
