Under the definition "art" there are so many entertainment options, certainly when it comes to meetings with people who have chosen to live in special places in the Galilee and turn any activity or experience into a form of art. Even those who do not define themselves as art lovers can enjoy an abseiling photography workshop, or shooting straw baskets that are filled with a variety of self-made pastries. There is also chocolate sculpture, music or dance performances and launches of books, exhibitions and albums.

All of these, and many more, will take place during the month of July in the Western Galilee, in areas defined as "green" of course, as part of the "Yuliart" events, which are taking place for the seventh year. So in order to support the Galilee businesses a little, we set out to get to know some of them up close.

Wine and music

Kishor Winery is a unique winery in the Israeli landscape. Extreme art

Ofek Ron Carmel is a very special combination of a guide and a professional photographer. He expresses this combination in the trips he guides, accompanied by a smartphone photography workshop. Most of us are used to just pulling out our mobile phones and taking pictures, but Ofek patiently shows us that each of us has a lot of options hidden in our phones that can wonderfully upgrade our photos. And it really works, a few small settings, which took us two minutes to sort out, resulted in a significant change in the quality of the images.

At "Yuliart" he takes the matter a step further, and teams up with brothers Avinoam and Nimrod Israel from TOP IL, who specialize in abseiling and climbing. Together they will hold a photography workshop combined with abseiling in the Galilee cliffs. So if you like a little extreme, and want to improve the quality of your photos, this is the ideal activity for you.

Taste the art

We already understood that anything can be art, and there is no doubt that food also meets this definition. Beit Al Yasmin in Acre is a work of art. A magnificent 400-year-old Ottoman building, located in a magical alley in the heart of the old city of Acre, is full of works of art by the international artist Jimmy Eik. Coincidentally or not, Jimmy is also the brother of the owner of the house, Miriam Eik.

During the event in July, Miriam will serve lunch on the purity of traditional Acre cuisine, which includes dishes such as rice with pine nuts, makluba with eggplants, sholbato savani and more. During the two-hour meal, Miriam will share her and her brother's family story, the background to the purchase of the unique house and the dream of turning it into a center of culture and art, and the works of her brother displayed in the house, the most prominent of which is the Ransas-style ceiling painting that decorates the central space.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 27, at Beit El Yasmin in Acre. The price of the meal is NIS 135 per person.Phone: 072-3941151.
