Tesla’s Optimus robot, developed by Elon Musk, is in the final stages of programming ahead of its market launch and continues to demonstrate amazing human-like abilities. In a recently released video on the social media platform X, posted by Tesla’s CEO, Optimus shows off a new and impressive skill – catching a tennis ball.

The short video, which has garnered millions of views, shows Optimus using its hands and its computer vision system to identify the ball, track its movement, and catch it with impressive precision. This ability showcases the advanced integration of artificial intelligence and robotics, illustrating how this technology is approaching the point of becoming a part of daily life. Musk noted that these capabilities are just the beginning and promise a future where the robot will be able to perform a wide variety of tasks.

Optimus was unveiled by Musk last October, and since then, it has become a focal point in the tech industry. Optimus, designed to function as a personal assistant, is based on Tesla's AI system, allowing it to learn and adapt to its environment.

Musk mentioned that the robot is intended to perform household tasks such as folding laundry, watering plants, and carrying items. With advanced sensors and impressive data processing abilities, Optimus can operate independently and improve its performance based on past experiences. The company plans to begin mass production in 2025, with an estimated price range of $20,000 to $30,000.

Two weeks ago, reality star Kim Kardashian revealed her new relationship on social media – with the Optimus robot. In the video she posted, Kardashian is seen interacting with the robot, forming a heart shape with her hands, and dancing alongside it. Although it is unclear whether the robot was purchased by her or provided by Tesla for experimentation, she expressed great enthusiasm about it. This event only heightens the attention surrounding Optimus, marking Tesla’s entry into a new era of home robotics.
