MODIL has been specializing in custom furniture for 55 years, a glorious Jerusalem dynasty of furniture production and design. The family runs a store, a showroom and a manufacturing plant adjacent to the Talpiot neighborhood in Jerusalem. From an imaginary sketch to a domestic reality
"We are very old in the industry," says Amnon Yosef, CEO and owner, "Thousands of customers have passed through us over the years. You can say that in Jerusalem we are really an institution. We produce furniture for all the rooms of the house: Whether it is a living room, kitchen, dining room, children's rooms, bedroom, master's room, 'wet' rooms (bathroom, toilet) complementary solutions (such as hives, designed shelves, sideboards, TV stands, chests, cupboards and more). Our distinct advantage is that we are both a store and a factory, so we can provide the customer with furniture according to any dream, any design idea. We do not have the limitation of 'this is what is in stock,' because our factory can produce any furniture in any size in any color in any style. Our factory enables local production with high availability, you don't have to wait for shipping from abroad, there are no delays at the port, everything is produced here on the spot, strictly Jerusalem blue and white."
Seniority and tradition alongside innovation and creativity
"We work with a quality material called Spanish chipboard (Sonae Industria) with melamine wood, with a very high level of finish, with Formica coating, and also with sandwich wood. The materials we work with are very compressed, which gives our furniture stability and strength, furniture that can last even fifty years. For example, the skeleton of a cabinet with us will be 28 cm thick - this makes the production very expensive, but it guarantees excellent quality and durability for many years. The customer receives a comprehensive service from us: From the planning and drawing of the furniture, through the adaptation of the planned furniture to the physical data of the house of the specific location where the piece of furniture should fit, we share with the customer in the fitting process, we think together with him, we advise him, we show him simulations, until we reach the optimal design and from there we move on to production design concept, and so on. We define our concept as creative carpentry - a combination of professionalism and flight, a real dialogue between style and functionality."

"A client can come to me with any idea, let's say something she saw in a design magazine and ask us to make it 'like' for her, in most cases we can do it," Amnon adds, "Our creative freedom is made possible by the very fact that we have a private production plant. We have Full freedom in this sense and we are not dependent on any external provider/body. We are truly able to make dreams come true for our customers."
Beyond the aesthetic-design aspect, MODIL is very careful about safety: Every piece of furniture that leaves the factory undergoes quality control and verification that it is safe, stable and suitable for the use for which it was created. Of course there is a warranty for every product and that there is a 'father and mother' even after the purchase, even fifty years after the purchase... service, reliability and personal attention are not concepts from the catalog when it comes to MODIL, they are a way of life.
