Kaldewei, the world's leading company in the production of enameled steel shower trays, bathtubs, and sinks, has been in existence for over 100 years. Recently, they were selected to design all the bathrooms in the Grand Hotel in Łódź, Poland, a renowned hotel that was built 135 years ago and has undergone extensive restoration and renovation.
The Grand Hotel, which boasts 152 rooms, two restaurants, a café, and conference rooms—including a unique historic theater—stands as one of the finest luxury hotels in Łódź. This five-star hotel prides itself on maintaining its rich heritage.
The hotel's management sought to restore the grandeur and luxury that the establishment was known for in its prime. They aimed to preserve the distinctive beauty and elegance through the use of luxurious items befitting a famous hotel deeply rooted in history.
Kaldewei products, with their marble-like finish, perfectly aligned with this unique task. The designers of the Grand Hotel chose MIENA sinks by Kaldewei, designed by Anke Salomon. These refined designs bring elegance and sophistication to the bathrooms, alongside the freestanding MEISTERSTUCK bathtubs from the Emerso collection, created by Eric Levy.
Levy’s collection presents bathtubs as sculptural pieces, with flowing silhouettes. The ergonomic bathtubs reflect the hotel’s elegant character and the timeless combination of old and new, where the new revives the old, turning everything into an architectural gem.
The hotel's architects placed great importance on preserving the long-standing tradition that left its mark, while also incorporating modern, elegant pieces with presence—such as those by Kaldewei. The bathtubs and sinks feature advanced designs, ensuring durability for many years to come.
When two entities with deep historical roots, like Kaldewei and the Grand Hotel, come together, the result is a dynamic that elevates the design to the level of a perfect showpiece.
