Ahead of LGBT parade, police withdraw requested restraining orders for 'dangerous' activists

Tel Aviv police rescinded a number of restraining orders against people who they deemed could pose a threat to Friday's upcoming LGBT pride parade, after a local court rejected the police appeal.
According to Channel 10, deliberations over the matter peaked on Wednesday night between the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court and Tel Aviv District Commander Moshe “Chico” Edri, who served as the Jerusalem district commander last year when religious extremist Yishai Schlissel stabbed several people, leading to the death of a 16-year-old girl.
Follow the debate, police announced that they had to withdraw their applications for restraining orders against far-right and ultra-Orthodox activists.
"As part of police preparation for the pride parade, police turned to the court to issue restraining orders against a number of people, but in accordance with the court's suggestion during a hearing today, police have withdrawn their request," Channel 10 quoted authorities as saying in light of the development.
