State Dept: US remains committed to reopening J'lem consulate

US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price stressed that the US remains committed to reopening the consulate for Palestinians in Jerusalem, during a press briefing on Tuesday.

"In the meantime we have really re-energized the relationship between the US and the Palestinian Authority, but also the Palestinian people," said Price. "This does nothing to what remains our objective of reopening the consulate in Jerusalem."

In past comments, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has stated that there is "no place for an American consulate that serves the Palestinians in Jerusalem."
