An Israeli security delegation led by Defense Ministry director-general Amir Eshel met with Italian military chiefs in Rome on Monday.
The delegation held strategic talks with Eshel's Italian counterpart Lt.-Gen. Luciano Portolano and the Italian military Chief of Staff Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
The talks revolved around expanding cooperation in military supplies and strengthening joint research and development (R&D) initiatives.
Eshel expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between Israel and Italy in various areas of security interests during the meetings, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
