The permanent appointment of a new Army Radio chief will be delayed until after the next Israeli government is sworn in, Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara ruled on Monday, Globes reported.
Baharav-Miara overruled the legal opinion of the defense establishment's attorney-general Itay Ofir, who argued a permanent appointment should be made immediately.
The attorney-general's decision means Galit Altstein, who was made interim head by Defense Minister Benny Gantz 12 months ago, will be allowed to remain in the role during election season.
