Israeli coalition passes budget in first reading, Gallant absent from vote

The government's 2023-2024 budget proposal passed its first reading in the Knesset plenum on Monday.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who had been removed from his position the day before and only offered reinstatement on the condition that he resign as a member of Knesset, did not participate in the vote and was not absent in the Knesset plenum.
