Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday night.
During the meeting, Salman expressed his country's support for "efforts that will guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people to an independent state."
A Hamas delegation, led by Ismail Haniyeh, is also currently visiting the Kingdom. According to Palestinian reports, they are also expected to meet with senior Saudi officials in the coming days.
