The Moroccan senate leader's Knesset visit canceled due to a medical emergency
President of the Moroccan House of Councillors Enaam Mayara's visit to the Knesset on Thursday was canceled after he fell in and was hospitalized in Jordan on Wednesday.
Mayara was supposed to visit Ramallah on Wednesday morning with a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean but was forced to cancel after being rushed into hospital.
"Unfortunately, because of a medical emergency, I am unable to go to the Knesset," said Mayara. "I know that much effort was invested in preparations for my visit, and I would like to express my appreciation for all involved."
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana wished Mayara a speedy recovery.
When Mayara returns to Morocco, a new date will be set for the visit.
"The relations between the kingdom of Morocco and the State of Israel are a common interest of both nations and together we will continue to deepen them," he said.
