A 19-year-old man was killed in the Bedouin town of Tel Sheva on Saturday, with another two people injured at the scene, as violence in Israel’s Arab community continues to spike.
The injured were evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.
A police statement described the attack as being part of a dispute between criminals, and said that they had arrested a suspect for smuggling the vehicle used in the shooting.
The Abraham Initiatives anti-violence group reported that the Tel Sheva murder was the 172nd member of the community to be killed since the start of the year. The organization says 77 people were killed during the same span last year.
Earlier in the day, a woman from Umm el-Fahm was critically wounded in a shooting. The woman, in her 50s, was transferred for medical treatment following the attack, which was said to be criminal.
