The Sderot Municipality Spokesperson, Yaron Sasson, announced a list of IDF soldiers and police officers from Sderot who have been killed in the fight against the Hamas invasion on Sunday evening.
The fallen IDF personnel include Lieutenant Shilah Cohen (24), of the Sderot Brigade, Major Dina Cohen (19), of the Southern Region Command of the Home Front Command, Lieutenant Tafser Shalom Tzaban (60), commander of the Kiryat Gat Fire Station, Master Sergeant (Res.) Erik Yehuda Marziano (50), of the Sderot Fire Station, andSergeant (Res.) Yevgeny Golski (34), a firefighter at the Netivot Fire Station.
The fallen Sderot police officers include Lieutenant Colonel Meir Abergel (55), Reserve Staff Sergeant Adir Shlomo (47), Reserve Staff Sergeant Semtsao Gullimah (49), Reserve Staff Sergeant Denis Blanki (47), Reserve Staff Sergeant Mor Shkori (29), and Reserve Sergeant Eliahu Michael Harush (28).
"A heavy cloud has fallen over the city with the shocking news yesterday and today's significant number of casualties in the battles," the Mayor of Sderot, Alon Davidi, said on Sunday evening.
"These are some of our best people in the army, the fire department, the police, and civilians who chose to live their lives in the city of Sderot and paid a heavy price following an abhorrent terrorist act. I, the members of the city council, municipal employees, and residents of Sderot, send sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a full recovery to the injured in hospitals."
"The Sderot Municipality shares in the heavy sorrow of the families of the soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and civilians affected by the ongoing attacks that began yesterday and continue at this moment," the Sderot Municipality Spokesperson said.
Names of civilian victims of Hamas's attack on Sderot will be released after they've been positively identified.
