Opposition Leader Yair Lapid arrived at the town of Sderot on Saturday afternoon - which has come under heavy fire from Hamas rockets.
"We are all together until we eradicate Hamas and guarantee a peaceful life for the residents of Sderot and surrounding Gaza border communities," he said.
Lapid received an overview from the town's mayor, Alon Davidi, on the evacuation procedures from the city that will begin soon, as well as needs of the city and its residents, which is under fire even at this time.
He also heard from Davidi about the battle he led when the terrorists entered the city, where his hand was injured from one of terrorists' shots.
Later, Lapid visited the city's police station which was completely destroyed during the fighting in the city.
"I went to Sderot to hug the residents, and to hear the mayor and his people," he said.
