Doron Sasi, the council head of Moshav Ramot Naftali, highlighted the pressing security concerns facing the moshav due to its close proximity to the border, in an interview to Army Radio on Monday.
Located only 2.3 km away from the border, Ramot Naftali finds itself in a precarious position amidst rising tensions in the region. "We are really in front of Hezbollah," Sasi stated, adding that while there were evacuations 2 km from the border, their moshav was not included. The mere 300 meters difference has resulted in the residents of Ramot Naftali feeling neglected. "We ask that Ramot Naftali be included in the list of evacuated settlements," urged Sasi.
He pointed out that the council had recommended residents to evacuate independently earlier in the week, with many heeding the advice and seeking refuge with families and friends. However, Sasi emphasized that if the nation were to assist in the evacuation, it would be more efficient to manage moshav operations, especially in terms of security and preparedness.
He explained that despite the looming threat, "daily life struggles to continue." Addressing the agricultural aspect, Sasi commented, "The workers are afraid to come, our fields are right next to the border." With the uncertainty casting a shadow, the moshav's resilience is evident as they navigate the challenges. "This is the situation in the country. It will be alright," Sasi optimistically remarked.
