The Education Ministry canceled Israeli school trips to Poland that were scheduled for the coming winter, it announced on Friday.
Due to the war, 215 trips that were due to involve some 24,000 students and teachers were canceled.
The move was made for security reasons due to the high levels of antisemitism around the world and to save the parents the cost of the trip.
The Education Ministry said it would find alternative activities to the trips that will "combine the memory of the Holocaust with the connection to the people, the nation, and the values of volunteering and social coherence."
The Education Ministry is continuing to prepare students for the summer trips that are still scheduled to take place for now.
