The Knesset approved a law to recognize the fiancés of fallen IDF soldiers for welfare purposes in a second and third reading on Tuesday.
The fiancés recognized will receive monthly grants for a period of five years, as well as assistance for financing academic studies and for financing psychological assistance.
Fiancés will need to prove they had the intention to marry in accordance with conditions specified in the law. The compensation they'll receive is similar to the compensation that widows receive.
