Armed Palestinian customs officer killed during encounter with IDF troops

The IDF confirmed on Wednesday that an armed Palestinian, belonging to the customs office of the Palestinian Authority, was killed during an encounter with IDF forces in Tubas in the West Bank.

The military also stated it had arrested two terrorists in Tubas, in the West Bank. During the operation, an IDF soldier was lightly wounded and was transferred to the hospital for further medical treatment. 

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli state broadcaster KAN news reported that an officer of the Palestinian Authority customs Police was killed by the IDF after he had tried to flee with a wanted person and opened fire at the forces.   

In a separate incident on Wednesday, KAN news reported that a military vehicle in Bethlehem had been burnt after individuals had thrown Molotov cocktails at the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

In addition, Israeli security forces operated in Kalandiya on Wednesday morning, according to the Palestinian state-run WAFA news agency.
