Senior Warrant Officer Mahmood Amaria fell in combat in northern Israel, the IDF announced on Monday.
Amaria, 45, from Ibtin, served in the 300th Brigade.
In addition, in the incident in which Amaria fell, a combat officer was seriously wounded.
The officer was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, and his family was informed.
Incident occurred as a result of a drone
Amaria was struck by pieces of aircraft that also caused a fire in the forest when it crashed, wounding the second soldier.
This incident occurred amid an extensive attack on the north, during which nonstop alarms were activated in the early hours of the morning across the Galilee and Upper Galilee.
Amaria had been an IDF soldier and reservist for over two decades, previously served in the Gaza Division, and was transferred to the North just before the war.
His wife is the director of preschools and kindergartens in the Zevulun Regional Council, which the Bedouin village of Ibtin is part of.
"Service in the IDF was very significant for him. We served together during Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip, and I remember he always said that his sons would follow in his footsteps and serve as well," his relative, Murad Amaria, a former tracker, told Walla.
"In general, his children's education was very important to him, and he always invested his free time in his family and children. He made sure to take the children to enrichment classes, ensured they learned horseback riding, and, of course, took care of all their needs."
"This was a principled man from a principled family living next to our town," said Munir Zbeidat, head of the Forum of Heads of Bedouin Authorities in the North and himself head of the neighboring council in B'smat Tivon.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic event that occurred this morning, extend our condolences to the family, and hope for much better days. The Bedouin towns in the North are an integral part of the state of Israel. The Bedouins in the North serve in the IDF and in all security branches as Israeli citizens and, unfortunately, also mourn 237 fallen soldiers commemorated here in the region at the Bedouin warrior site."
