Fire ignited after five projectiles cross into Israel from Lebanon

Four fire and rescue teams are tackling the flames and attempting to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Twenty-five projectiles crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon on Saturday afternoon, the IDF reported. The projectiles set fire to an open area in Azriel in Sharon.

Four fire and rescue teams tackled the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

The military reportedly intercepted some of the aerial targets while the others fell in open areas. The interceptions occurred after sirens sounded in the area between 9:26 a.m. and 9:27 a.m. The military later confirmed that approximately 25 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted and the rest fell in open areas.

Rockets launched from Lebanon

Earlier, a rocket reportedly struck northern Israel on Saturday morning after sirens sounded in the region, according to Israel's emergency medical response service, Magen David Adom.

MDA noted that response teams were en route to the scene of the strike and that no injuries had been reported.

Following further projectiles being launched from Lebanon on Saturday afternoon, MDA reported it was en route to  Upper Galilee region and Hof HaCarmel region, after reports of a strike. 

No known casualties at this time, MDA reported.
