H5N1 avian influenza has been discovered in a turkey coop in Kibbutz Tzora, near Beit Shemesh, Israeli media reported Sunday.
Following an unusual mortality in three pre-market turkey coops, samples were sent to the Agriculture Ministry and Food Safety laboratories, which confirmed the infection.
This is the 13th case of avian influenza diagnosed in commercial poultry farms this flu season.
