Sadan, who has been accused of making derogatory comments about Shas and its supporters, boycotted Cabel's meeting. Cabel said Sadan should not be allowed to receive the post unless he passed the test.
Shas leader Arye Deri told Army Radio that he had nothing against Sadan personally but that Shas was formed to fight racism and discrimination and Sadan proved they still exist in Israel. Regarding the probe investigating Deri for alleged corruption, he said he had still not been called in for questioning.
"It is the obligation of law enforcement authorities to carry out the probe," he said. "I am ready to cooperate and and answer any questions."
