Canadian olah wins 'The Voice' competition

Recent Canadian immigrant Kathleen Reiter won the maiden season of The Voice Saturday night, beating out Raz Shmueli in the finals.
The 23-year-old Reiter grew up with her Israeli-born parents in Quebec, where she learned to speak English, French and Hebrew. She decided to make aliya on a visit to Israel last summer, and auditioned for the Channel 2 show’s first season, singing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”
The show, based on the successful American series that premiered last year, features four judges/coaches – Sarit Hadad, Rami Kleinstein, Aviv Geffen and Shlomi Shabat.
Reiter chose to work with Hadad, who coached the young singer to the finals with a mixture of songs in English and Hebrew, and ultimately to the title of ‘the voice’ of Israel.
