The detention of Edward Kachura, the suspect in the murder of 17-year-old Lital Yael Melnik, has been extended by 24 hours, N12 reported on Sunday.
Kachura's lawyer, Boris Sherman, said: "The authorities are dragging their feet in the suspect's case. Reasonable suspicion is no longer enough except with alleged evidence - and alternatives to detention must be considered."
