Avigdor Liberman of the rightist Yisrael Beytenu party will moderate his views by dint of his position as defense minister, an opposition lawmaker predicted on Friday.
During an interview with Army Radio, MK Ofer Shelah of the centrist Yesh Atid party said that "there's a tremendous distance between the ease in which a Knesset member in the opposition speaks and the [way in which] the man sitting in the defense minister's chair speaks."
"In this regard, there will be quite a difference between the defense minister of Israel and the man who talked of bombing in Iran," Shelah said. "This measure of responsibility will alter the balance."
