Rachel Biton, one of the four Israelis who contracted coronavirus while aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan, has recovered and was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
She underwent numerous tests to ensure she no longer had any trace of the highly contagious virus. One of her family members remained hospitalized in a Tokyo military hospital.
Biton is currently arranging her return to Israel. When she arrives at Ben-Gurion Airport she will be tested for coronavirus. If she tests negative, she will be allowed to go home.
Three Israelis remain hospitalized in Japan. The other 11 Israelis who were aboard the Diamond Princess returned on February 21 and have been in quarantine at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, since then. Two of the returnees have been diagnosed with the virus.
