FM Lapid comments on rumors of US rescinding Golan recognition

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said on Friday that the Golan Heights is a strategic asset for Israel, in response to rumors that the United States might rescind recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the area. 

"Those who spread rumors about the US rescinding its recognition [of the Golan Heights] harm our security, our sovereignty and are prepared to cause real damage to the State of Israel and its relations with the US, just to hurt the new government," Lapid said. 

Yamina MKs Ayelet Shaked and Idit Silman also highlighted the importance of the Golan Heights for Israel in statements on Twitter, noting its an integral part of the Land of Israel.
