Foreign Ministry quiet on reports Israeli missing in Yemen

Citing the sensitivity of the issue, the Foreign Ministry had no response to reports Tuesday of an Israeli who immigrated from Yemen 20-years ago whom his family is concerned was captured by Islamic State as he went back to Yemen to bring his brother to Israel.
The ministry is aware of the story, but not commenting, one official said.
According to Yediot Ahronot, the man is a 64-year-old Ashkelon resident who move to Israel in 1995 and received the status of “prisoner of Zion” since he was imprisoned by Yemeni authorities for flying an Israeli flag outside his home.
This was not his first visit back to Yemen since making aliya, and – according to the report – was detained there for three months in 2013 on allegations of spying for Israel.
