Former PM gets prison furlough Monday

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert will leave Ma'asiyah prison Monday, in his first furlough since he started serving his 19-month sentence for bribery and obstruction of justice in February.
Olmert will be permitted to go for 48 hours to his home in the Jerusalem suburb of Mozza Illit, where he will resume the protection he receives from the Shin-Bet security service as a former prime minister.
Olmert had asked to leave the prison on March 20 to attend the funeral of former Mossad chief Meir Dagan, but he was turned down, because he had not yet completed serving a fourth of his sentence.
