Haredi activist group says arrested yeshiva student will pray for you in return for donation

A haredi activist group which opposes enlistment to the IDF has embarked on a new fundraising campaign whereby it promises that a soldier who has been arrested for not reporting to army enlistment offices will pray on behalf of any donor.

The Foundation for Saving the Torah World provides legal assistance for yeshiva students who refuse to present themselves at IDF recruitment offices and who are arrested as a result.

One such student, Yakov Yisrael Paz, was arrested last week on Purim by the military police and is currently being held on the IDF’s Prison 6 near Atlit. The Foundation for Saving the Torah World is currently promising that they will give to Paz the name and prayer requests of anyone who donates NIS 100 to the organization.

The prayers of someone who sanctifies God and sacrifices themselves for this purpose are considered to be especially powerful, which forms the basis for the foundation's fundraising drive.
