Israel's rhythmic gymnasts scale podium once more

Israel’s national rhythmic gymnastics team added another medal to its ever-growing tally on Saturday, finishing in third place in the all-around final at the Pesaro World Cup event in Italy.
A week after winning a gold medal in the ribbons final at the Thiais Grand Prix in France, the team of Yuval Filo, Alona Koshevatskiy, Ekaterina Levina, Karina Lykhvar and Ida Mayrin registered an overall score of 35.5 in Pesaro to claim a bronze medal behind Italy and Bulgaria.
The team will look to scale the podium yet again on Sunday when it takes part in the apparatus finals.
The blue-and-white women booked their place at the Rio Olympics last December after ending the individual all-around final at the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany in seventh place.
Medals are only awarded in the all-around event at the Olympics.
The team will compete in Israel on Thursday, participating in the national championships at Malha Arena in Jerusalem. The 32nd European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships will be held in Holon in June.
