Judge frees man who tried to kill US President Reagan

WASHINGTON - John Hinckley Jr., the man who tried to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981 and shot three other people, will be freed after 35 years and released to live with his mother, a US judge ruled on Wednesday.
US District Judge Paul Friedman, in an order first reported by the Washington Post, said Hinckley no longer posed a danger to himself or others and could be released from a government psychiatric hospital.
