MK Yariv Levin (Likud) became Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Tuesday, replacing MK Ze'ev Elkin (Likud) in the position.
The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, arguably the Knesset's most sensitive panel, continues to hold meetings even though the legislature is recess ahead of the March 17 election.
Elkin took Levin's previous roles of Knesset House Committee chairman and head of the Subcommittee on the Defense Budget. He also took over for Levin as coalition chairman earlier this year.
