Most Israelis avoid public transport after coronavirus regulations

Most Israelis avoided using public transportation on Wednesday following strict Health Ministry instructions to remain indoors and leave the house only when it is absolutely essential.    

 

Only 40% of the typical number of passengers used public transport and in Jerusalem the number fell by 50%.  

 

The predominantly ultra-Orthodox city of Beni Barak was the exception with 90% of travelers still using public transportation.
