Netanyahu comments on the criminal investigation against him: 'There is no felony here'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to the ongoing police investigation against him at the opening of Monday's Likud faction meeting, repeatedly saying that there is no merit to the investigation: "there was no felony here. The investigations are just meant to disguise [from the public] the achievements of the government. The Israeli public isn't buying this assault, the public is smart. I feel it everywhere I go. Multiple civilians understand the game that is being played here and they're not falling for it."
The premier, who was welcomed by Likud ministers with hugs and a round of applause, went on to attack the Israeli media, blaming it for personally and unjustifiably attacking him: "Here's another transcript for you guys, for the eight o'clock news," he mockingly said in reference to the media coverage of the alleged secret meetings between him and 'Yedioth Aharonot' publisher Arnon (Noni) Mozes.
Carrying on in the same vein, Netanyahu pretended to be dictating a headline to reporters:"Bibi: 'It's not going to help you.' I intend to continue leading this country."
"In the last few days there is an ongoing, huge public campaign against me whose purpose is to trample the Likud government which I am heading. An entire investigation is being conducted on television. I, of course, am precluded from commenting and therefore cannot present the public with the truth- that there was no felony here. Media people here are the judges, the investigators and the hangmen," the prime minister added.
