Officials: Planned cuts to police to be reduced

A 181 million shekel budget cut to the Public Security Ministry will be "significantly reduced," officials said Monday, allowing the Israel Police and the Prisons Service to continue to carry out their vital functions.
The reduction in the budget slash follows an understanding reached between the Public Security Ministry and the Finance Ministry, with the backing of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Officials could not yet say exactly how much the budget cut would now be.
