WARSAW - Polish police attempted on Saturday to remove protesters blocking the exits from parliament by grabbing them and pulling them aside, but later discontinued their attempts as new protesters arrived at the scene, a Reuters witness said. The parliament was surrounded by hundreds of policemen, many of whom were carrying rubber bullet guns. The protest started on Friday after the opposition said ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party lawmakers illegally passed the budget for next year when the speaker moved the vote outside of the main chamber of parliament.Earlier the opposition occupied the parliamentary podium in protest against a plan to curb media access to parliament.
