Public health expert: Gov't directives lack epidemiological logic

The government's new set of coronavirus restrictions are "devoid of epidemiological logic," said  Prof. Hagai Levine, chairman of the Israeli Association of Public Health Physicians, in an interview with KAN news on Friday.
The professor was reiterating statements made the day before, ahead of a late-night ministerial committee meeting that approved a new set of directives to help stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Specifically, Levine said that the decision to close down beaches lacked basis, as the risk of catching coronavirus in open spaces is much lower than in closed spaces.
