Report: Peretz, Margalit won't face criminal charges

Knesset members Amir Peretz (Hatenua) and Harel Margalit (Labor) will not face criminal charges in an ongoing investigation into allegations of vote-buying during the last Labor primaries, Israel Radio reported on Sunday.
Though police wouldn't comment on the record on the case on Sunday, Israel Radio reported that the case is now focusing on witness testimony that money was paid to party activists in order to persuade voters in the party primary, and not that money was paid directly to voters.
Though Margalit and Peretz were at the center of the scandal when it broke last week, neither has been brought in for questioning yet by police, according to members of their staff.
