Residents agree to negotiations with Finance Ministry

Residents informed the High Court of Justice on Wednesday that they agree to return to negotiations with the Finance Ministry, without preconditions.

Supreme Court Justice Hanan Melcer had urged doctors to return to the negotiating table during Tuesday's preliminary hearing of a petition filed by residents against a Labor Court ruling ordering them to return to work.

In Wednesday's response to Justice Melcer, the petitioners stipulated that the negotiations must take place on a daily basis and be fixed to an intensive schedule of two weeks.

The petitioners have asked that the negotiations with the Finance Ministry include, among other things, the reduction in the length of the nine-year wage agreement previously agreed between the Israel Medical Association and the Finance Ministry in August.
