Social workers expected to bring end to strike

The Social Worker's Union decided to accept the Treasury's latest offer on Monday and their 23-day-old strike is expected to come to an end, Army Radio reported.
Representatives of both sides were working out the final details of the salary agreement on Monday evening.
The social workers decided to take the deal after National Labor Court Judge Nili Arad threatened to issue an injunction against the strike which continued after the Histadrut Labor Federation had previously reached a deal with the Finance Ministry.
Following the threat of an injunction forcing them back to work, the social workers voted to accept the deal they had rejected a week earlier.
Dozens of social workers protested outside of the meeting where the vote took place, calling on the union leaders not to give in to the Finance Ministry's demands.
