South Korea condemns the North’s ballistic missile launch

South Korea condemned North Korea on Tuesday for firing three ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast early in the morning.
The US military said it detected launches of what it believed were two Scud missiles and one Rodong, a home-grown missile based on Soviet-era Scud technology.
The missiles were launched from an area in the North's western region called Hwangju between 5:45 a.m. South Korea time and 6:40 a.m., the South's military said, an indication that the North was confident they would not crash on its own territory.
"North Korea's missile launch is a provocative action which poses a grave threat to our national security and our people. Our military strongly condemns the North's rash act of attempting a reckless provocation again," said, South Korea's Chief of Public Affairs in the Joint Chief of Staff (JCS), Jeon Ha-gyu.
